Music Composer Wajid Khan of Sajid Wajid duo breathed his last on June 1, 2020. His death left everyone in shock. Reportedly, he contracted coronavirus from his mother
On June 1, 2020, we woke up to a piece of sad news. Wajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid duo breathed his last on June 1 at the age of 42. The music composer was said to be on the ventilator for the past few days. If reports are anything to go by, Wajid Khan had undergone a kidney transplant a few months ago. It was his brother Sajid Khan's wife who had donated her kidney to him. However, reports suggest that his body rejected the transplanted organ and he was admitted to the hospital post kidney infection. Now, reports state that he was also COVID-19 positive.
A report in Peepingmoon.com suggests that the music composer contracted Coronavirus from his mother. It was his mother, brother Sajid and his wife, who were taking care of Wajid Khan for the past two months as he went in and out of the hospital. His mother, who showed no symptoms for Coronavirus but was positive, visited him daily. That's how he is said to have contracted Coronavirus, but by the time doctors understood his condition, it was too late. With all these complications, Wajid Khan died of cardiac arrest in a hospital in Chembur, stated the report.
Post his demise, it was Salim Merchant who rubbished the reports of Wajid Khan dying of Coronavirus. To Bombay Times, the musician was quoted saying, "We all know that he was sick and unwell for a while now but still his demise was a complete shocker. Wajid did not die of COVID-19. There have been false news floating around since last night. It is very sad that his kidney infection got worse and it got the better of him ultimately. He had multiple problems, it went to his throat, he was a diabetic and he had other health problems too that he finally succumbed to.”
However, as per a report in ABP, the music composer's death certificate mentioned Coronavirus and Kidney failure as the cause of his death. (Also Read: Wajid Khan Death: Composer Would Say ‘You’ll Miss Me When I Am No More’ When Danish Sabri Missed His Calls)
